How to Homeschool the Smart Way
Please join the waiting list to be notified as soon as enrollment opens again next year.
This is a course for homeschooling parents of children ages six through twelve who want to homeschool the smart way using sound principles of education.
As there are numerous misconceptions about homeschooling today, too many homeschoolers are going about it in ways that are contrary to the spirit of homeschooling. This course will help you develop a sound understanding of what homeschooling is, how to homeschool, what to teach, when to teach, and how to raise life-long learners, but, most importantly, how to raise children of good character.
I will present lectures in real time and make recordings of each lecture for those who are not able to attend the live meeting. There will also be a short Q and A session at the end of each class with a larger Q and A at the close of the course.
In the course, we'll cover everything you need to know including:
How to set-up your homeschool legally
How to design your curriculum
How to choose and order your books
How to make customized lesson plans
You'll learn how to determine whether not your child is ready for formal instruction, how to nurture his or her love of knowledge, and how you can become the best teacher for your child.
Homeschooling requires some skill in organization, so we'll talk about productivity, time management, and staying organized during the homeschooling year. We'll also talk about ways to replenish your reserves so you don't become overwhelmed.
We'll spend some time on understanding the history of modern education, without which it's difficult to understand the full significance and importance of homeschooling. We'll also talk about virtual charter schools and why they are the worst option in education today.
No homeschool can succeed without willing children, so we'll talk about how to establish your authority as a teacher, why you need to have high expectations for your children, and how to create an environment where your children want to do their best.
☛ We will be covering a lot!
While all the lessons will be recorded and available for listening to at your convenience, I encourage people to join live when they can. There will also be worksheets and resources given throughout the course.
You'll begin the course August 4th, 2018. Session dates are Saturdays, August 4, 11, 18 and September 8, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Pacific Standard Time.
I look forward to meeting you on the inside!
